Archie - A Pilot in RAF Bomber Command
Top of the list naturally, my main website which is about my grandfather, Archie. Archie was a Pilot in Bomber Command during WWII who lost his life during an operation against the German Battleship Tirpitz in March 1942. Lots of information about other airmen and aircraft too and about the operations they flew during the war.
WW2 crash sites in Norway visited, photographed and researched by Kjell Sørensen and Morten Moe.
Air Craft Crash Sites of Scotland
Two men and a dog who obviously have no aversion to going uphill and who I have no intention of competing with. They have visited lots and lots of the crash sites in Scotland come rain, hail, sleet, snow or sunshine (and that's just in the summer months here!). A refreshing, entertaining and enjoyable site.
High Ground Wrecks in the UK and Northern Ireland
A site by David Earl who aims to perpetuate the memories of all those airmen who failed to return and honour all those who survived high ground flying accidents in the UK and Northern Ireland.
Assynt Mountain Rescue Team
Visit this website and find out all about the Assynt Mountain Rescue Team and the excellent and very worthwhile work that they do. This team cover the area where the Avro Anson N9875 crashed in 1941 in the days before Mountain Rescue Teams existed.
Local Aviation History
Colin MacKenzie's web site focusing on aviation history in Bedfordshire and North East Scotland.
The story about the ten American airmen and their aircraft who crash landed in Brunlanes, Norway on the 21st of April 1945. They were out on a "Carpetbagger" mission supplying the Norwegian resistance when, approaching the target they were engaged by a German Messerschmitt 110 and later by German "Flak". The aircraft was shot down and nine of the airmen were rescued by the local resistance - one died.
